5 Things I Love #11

Hello friends!

Sorry I didn't post this yesterday. A group of us went over to Peters house for another game night. Loaded Questions was the game of choice this time and let me tell you what... It was a blast. I do enjoy a good evening with great friends. There is such a great sense of community about it.

Just a side note, something really awesome happened this weekend...

Jordan and I are going to sign on our lease this week! That's right! You read correctly! The townhouse Jordan and I looked at is going to be ours. I wont move in till after we're married, but Jordan is moving in in 2 weeks! I'm glad I'm not moving in right away because that gives me time to think about what accent colors I want. I'm thinking a lot of black and white with yellow as an accent color. I love yellow so much and I think it will look great with all the natural light we'll have at the new place.

I'll be posting a lot of pictures/ideas for decorating a new space. I'm really really excited... These are some of my favorites right now...

1. I love this nifty way to show off records from Ikea Hacker.
2. I want to make these wonderful cement letters from Dot Com For Moms.
3. I need to make this classy looking desk for my new "office."
4. I hope Jordan doesn't hate these lovely pillows from Wit & Whistle!
5. This photo transfer to wood from Digital Photography School.

Have a great rest of your weekend, guys!

Oh, happy day!

Can I just share something that made my day today? Michaelangelo Buckley (a Poler customer and #campvibe enthusiast) emailed me today & sent me this picture of his snowboard. I grinned from ear to ear!

I love when customers enjoy our products and love our service. I just had to share this picture with you guys because of how fantastic it is. :)

To do this week...

Drinking: Coffee
Listning: Band Of Horses

I've been thinking a lot about goals lately. I set them for myself, have a week or 2 of intense motivation and then it tapers off. I really love doing these weekly "to do lists" or "goals" because it helps me manage the big things I have to do during the week and check them off at the end. Keeping things simple has been at the forefront of my mind lately.

1. Start planning a wedding.
That means gather ideas, budget, set a date & find a venue. Yippee!

2. Clean out my closet.
Goodness gracious, I have so many clothes that haven't seen the light of day in years. It's time to simplify!

3. Focus on blog content.
What do you all think about features that involve interviews? I like it, but I can't decide if I like it just because I think it sounds fancy. Either way, it's happening.

4. Continue working out.
It seriously will not get done unless I put it on this list. Haha.

5. Be still and know.
The Lord is such a better planner than I am. Hallelujah!

I also need to finish up two things that didn't get 100% completed from last week:

1. Make wall art for a friend.
2. Make a blogging kit.

On another note... Jordan and I were looking into townhouses last night. I think we found one we both like and it's in a great neighborhood and closer to work for me! That would be wonderful since I have a decent drive in the morning. I can't wait to be able to set up a home. I'm hoping everything falls into place so I can move in right after the wedding with no stress involved. It would be awesome if I could have my big things (books, desktop, shelves...) all moved in so all I had to bring was clothes.

I hope you all have a great day. Cheers to Tuesday!

Complete.

Oh goodness everyone. I didn't get half the things I wanted to get done this week done. Poop on a stick. I JUST looked into planning a wedding on Friday and it's terrifying. Haha. Why is everything so expensive & time consuming? It just seems plain silly to me. With that said, here is the list of things I said I wanted to do this week and my progress...

1. Watch less TV.
Check. This is actually did! Mostly because I didn't have time, but there were also times when I chose to not watch. It was awesome!

2. Go for a walk after work every day. It's a nice way to get some fresh air & let me feel like I'm "working out" without running. Winning!
Check. Okay, so I didn't walk everyday... but I am trying to slim down my legs. I worked on that DAILY. That counts.

3. Make wall art for a friend.
Unfinished. I'm sorry, friend.

4. Make a blog kit like this one.
Unfinished. Some items are gathered, some are not.

5. Post pictures of my lovely Traverse City trip.
Check. Ahhhh! I had such a lovely time. :)

I got to tell my engagement story to all the high schoolers at church tonight. Absolutely made my day. Well, that and the Lions won today. Both favorites! Have a great night guys. :)

POSTER.

Just a shout out to Jim Golden Studios. They sent me this lovely poster and I think it's fantastic.

5 Things I Love #10

Drinking: Water
Listening: Paul Klein

I am really excited about this 5 Things I Love post and I'll tell you why: I love finding people who share a love for the same things I do. With that said let me introduce you to two really great guys I have come into contact with...

1. Shane Farnsworth.
First of all, this guys videos and photos are killer. I love the style and vibe of all of them. I first talked to him when he emailed Poler with this great video. You should check out the video and his site by clicking on his name above.

2. Paul Klein.
Paul and his music are both featured in the video I talked about above. Shane told me to check out his music, so I did. Not only is the music wonderful, his love for the Lord is apparent. I was so pleasantly surprised. Please, go check out his tunes. They're fantastic.

3. Fantasy Basketball.
That's right, folks. Margeaux Knight (aka Hoops, I did it again) is participating in fantasy hoops this year with the guys at work. I could be more excited! Learning curve, here I come. Haha.

4. theknot.com
I wont lie... I am terrified to start planning this wedding. But since it's only 6 months out, I better get cracking. If anyone has pointers shoot them my way! I will be eternally grateful!

5. This 8tracks playlist.
I know, I know... I mention 8tracks a lot. I just can't help it! This playlist is getting me through super long days of work. Sometimes all I need is some good music when I hit that 2:30 pm wall.

Here's a small list of other things I love today...
1. The Raven is a great movie. Just watched it with Jordan and it was enjoyable.
2. My new denim shirt.
3. The Lance Armstrong debate that took place in my kitchen today.
4. The fact that it's 64 degrees outside right now.
5. My knitting book.

Thanks for listening to me gush about things today guys! Have a great weekend!

Listening: 6 am Monday morning silence

Hello hello everyone! Time for some music on this lovely first day of a new week! The band of choice today is All Songs & Daughters.

This Christian Tennessee duo has just a handful of songs - but I love every single one. If you get a chance listen to Brokenness Aside. It's probably my personal favorite from their first EP. They have another EP coming out. Check out their site for more details and give some of their new tunes a listen! Enjoy!

Even though I only got to go to Art Prize once this year I was still blown away. So many wonderful pieces of art sprinkled around my gorgeous city. I hope you all love this as much as I do.

Glass & steel.

Scene made out of odds & ends.

Owl out of spoons.

Animals made out of odds & ends.

Who else got to go down to Art Prize? What was your favorite?

My favorite season!

I've been making a list of lovely things about fall that I just am so excited for.

1. Leaf piles
2. Sweaters & scarves
3. Thanksgiving
4. Hot cider
5. Apple picking
6. Bon fires

I'm sure there are quite a few other things, but I can't think of them now.

I've been reading up a lot lately on blogging, planning, crafting & enjoying life. I work so much... I really need to spend more time resting. This weekend is going to be some much needed rest for me & hopefully I'll be able to plan & organize my thoughts a little bit more than they have been lately.

Enough about me! What are your favorite things this season?

DIY: Chalkboard Wine Glass

Drinking: Coffee
Listening: Matthew Nathanson

I'm glad I finally get to share this DIY with you. It was a blast making these & they were super simple.

1. Pour enough black chalkboard paint into a disposable container to cover the bottom & dunk the wine glass straight down to the bottom.

2. Wait until the base is completely covered (this might be a second because the paint is thick) & pull out slowly.

3. Take a plastic knife & drag along the bottom of the glass to get any extra drips off before it starts to dry.

4. Place on wax paper to dry (I moved mine around a couple times because there was a lot of extra paint still dripping).

See the finished product! Aren't they darling? I can't wait to make 2 more so I have a full set. These would make great gifts. I think I might make some for all my friends that are getting married.

Later this week Jordan & I are going to Traverse City! Our 1 year is coming up & I'm glad we get to spend time together.

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

To do this week...

As I have stated previously, I love making list. I regularly making lists while I'm at work of things I need to do during the day, week & month. Here are some things I want to accomplish this week. This past weekend was so crazy (in a good way!) so I didn't get a lot of "to do's" checked off a list. I'm hoping to jump back into the swing of things this week and knock some out!

1. Browse hello friend, you are loved.
I recently stumbled onto this blog & was delighted when she had a whole section on "packaging." I love packaging, tags & wrapping - in fact, this past weekend I was making some tags for my etsy shop! It just seemed to fall into place so well. I love seeing creative people in action.

2. Make homemade modge podge.
I've never done this, but it's been all over Pintrest. I want to give it a try and see how it works. If it's just as good, wonderful! If not, at least I gave it a go.

3. Visit artprize & take some pictures.
I can't wait to get down there and enjoy G-rap!

4. Take some pictures of a DIY I did this past weekend.
I'm really excited to share this DIY with you all! It's so cute & classy!

5. Make an 8tracks playlist.
This is happening. I need something to jam to while I'm cleaning & organizing.

Happy Monday everyone! It's 4:14 AM I am going in search of coffee... :)

Shalom
