Hudsonville Fair

Drinking: Water
Listening: Mayer Hawthorn

Nothing says "summer" quite like the fair around here, and there are plenty of them to go to. Hudsonville holds a special place in my heart though, so I rarely go anywhere else. As far as fairs go, they've nailed it. I guess I can't be picky. A lot of fairs have the same rides and food, but I grew up here. I can't go without running into old friends from the past and it's always wonderful to catch up. So when Donna and I found out that Anna & Heather would be there showing Anna's goats we jumped at the chance to go. I'm pretty busy these days, but we were both able to go on Thursday evening. I haven't been to the fair in 2 or 3 years and didn't realize how expensive it had gotten! Goodness! I had cash and after getting in didn't have much for rides or nasty fair food. Donna and I pooled out money and were able to ride one ride and get some fair food "staples." Yummm.

I'm really glad I got to stop by. I think today is the last day - so it's good that I was able to go Thursday. Hope you all have a great weekend!

5 Things I Love #6

Drinking: Water
Listening: The Temper Trap

Welcome welcome! Here's another grouping of 5 Things I Love.

1. This is my baby sister. She's amazing in every way possible. She sings, dances, creates, works hard and laughs often. She's also quite a bit taller than me even though she's 4 years younger. :)

2. This tutorial on how to make a Cotton + Leather Clutch from ABM is wonderful. Next paycheck I get I'm heading to Hobby Lobby to buy some new fabric!
3. Selective Potential is a new blog that I've been reading a whole lot. I really love her style and dedication. It's what I would really love my site to be like once I begin to pour a lot of time into it. Oh, and the best part? We have the same last name!
4. This is my new Friday song. I wore Rebecca Blacks song out, so I had to get a new one. Truth be told, I like this one better anyway.
5. This is the high school worship team that I work with every Sunday. I am so blessed to be able to spend time with these kids every week.
This Friday has been going so well! Yesterday my co-worker Aaron & his fiance Emily had their little baby girl. He's been at the hospital but came in today just for a little bit. He's tired, but I know he's so happy. Donna and I went to the fair last night to visit Anna & Heather. I'll post pictures soon. This weekend is going to be fantastic, too. I just know it.

Chicago Continued...

Drinking: Water
Listening: Florence + The Machine

I said I was going to share these pictures a long time ago. I finally edited and uploaded a lot of them. I really love that Jordan & I could spend time in the windy city for my birthday. I love him a whole lot. I'll stop talking now. Enjoy these pictures!

I loved all the moments I was able to snap pictures of. We went to the Aquarium, ate dinner on the pier, went to Willis Tower and did some shopping. It was perfect. :)

Girl Night.

Drinking: Dr. pepper
Listening: Dead Poetic

This past weekend was a weekend full of wonderful things. One of my favorites was girl night on Friday. I went out with Kara & Donna and had a blast. I do love getting a little fancy & going out for a night on the town. Especially if it's with these lovely ladies. The Lord has really blessed me with a group of great people and I couldn't be more thankful.

5 Things I Love #5

Drinking: Water
Listening: Massive Attack

Hello all! Welcome to another Friday. I was so excited to have this weekend come. I just have so many things to accomplish & I couldn't wait to start. This week was a little stressful, too. Tonight I'm going out for a girls night with Kara & Donna. I know it's going to be a great time. Those girls really do make my day. :)

1. Grimm. I have been really enjoying this show lately. I'm excited for us to have a weekly "watch Grimm" day now that the new season started.

2. How-to Social Media Blogs. I do love a good blog, but lately I've been reading up on social media and PR blogs. Hopefully these will help me if I keep my own blogging thing going.

3. A Delicious Salad Man, oh man. One of my favorite things about summer is salads. You can make so many from a small amount of things. I mean, the options are almost limitless if you feel like getting creative.

4. Another Delicious Salad. I know... I might have a problem. At least it's healthy, right?

5. Amazon Prime. I bought Liquitex yesterday. I expected to see it tomorrow because I have Amazon Prime and I get free 2 day shipping a lot of the time. Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised when I came home today to find a package addressed to me with a Next Day Air label on it. Thank you, Amazon. My craft weekend will not be ungrateful.

Pintrest Find: Minimalist Movie Posters

Drinking: Lemonade
Listening: She & Him

Sometimes when I'm "pinning" I happen to stumble upon a really great site. This is one of those sites. Minimalist posters to some of my favorites movies. I think buying some of these might be on my list of things to do. Here are just a couple of my favorites...

Aren't these just amazing? I had to stop looking... I would have tried to post 50 all at once. I think these would make great wall prints. I'm really loving this site. Do you guys have any favorites?

DIY: Birthday Canvas

Drinking: Water
Listening: Taylor Swift

I am so happy I can finally share this project with you! It was a birthday present for my friend Kara & she reads my blog, so I couldn't spill the beans. Donna and I hung out and painted this up a couple weeks ago. It was straight forward. 1. Base Coat 2. Words 3. Let it dry!

Making things and spending time with great people are some of my favorite things, so this evening was a blast! Have you ever made anything for a friend?
